The Paper Mama - Favorite of December

Having a 2 year old in the house is always interesting.  She is forever picking on her big brothers, running around the house giggling, and with the Christmas season, has once again been obsessed with our Christmas tree.  Last year we only decorated the top three feet of the tree because her curious little hands pulled every ornament off within her little reach.  This year, she has decided to only play with the ornaments on one side of the tree (dear friends and family please forgive the bald spot on the tree, babycakes is making some memories.) A new tradition Scout has started this year, is giving the ornaments each a kiss...every day.  LOVE these little precious moments in life! With that said, here is my favorite photo of December.

I can't believe Christmas is here already, I am getting so excited for tomorrow morning!
Wishing all of you a VERY Merry and Blessed Christmas!

The P.M. Photo Challenge - Red

We have been having some warmer weather than what is expected for Nebraska in December.  While I am bummed at the probability of not having a white Christmas, it was nice to get outside and enjoy the 45+ degree day with my little girl.  She had fun playing in the puddles left from the rain and the snow that has melted, I had fun snapping some photos of her while she played. <3

It's been awhile.. so here is a short update..

Okay, so life get's a little busy and the first thing I skimp on is my blogging.  It's been crazy busy, and I love it.  Kids are great, life is great, and we are counting down the days until Christmas.  My husband and I are going a new route this year, no more over the top too many don't know what to do with them gifts.  We decided each child gets one thing off their wish list and that's it.  We have stuck by it so far, and I've got a feeling (woohoo) that it's going to be a new trend in our house.  We all want our kids to have it better than we did as children, I think that sometimes, we need to take a step back and realize what all we have, and focus on those who truly do need our help. Not just during the holiday season but all year long.  That is my goal this year, family goal if you will.. to help my family understand, and appreciate the blessings in life, and to learn to share those blessings with others.  Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving, we had some gorgeous weather here and spent the weekend on go carts, and 4 wheelers.  Did I mention sleeping in? No black Friday madness for me, I was enjoying the cool side of my pillow :)

What We Have Been Up To...

I apologize for not keeping up with the blog the last few weeks. I had forgotten what a luxury time can be in the summertime when the only thing you worry about in the evenings is dinner and relaxing.  Now that school is back and football as well as soccer have started up again, it is once again time for running, running, and some more running.  This last week we also painted (that "we" is a loosely used term, from here on the "we" is my husband) the house.  IT looks great! Love the color we chose, and the weather has cooperated nicely with days that border on making it sinful to be inside.  This year I am coaching Logan's team, it was a request not something I had planned on, and it has thrown me for a loop and is causing my brain to try and remember positions, drills, and the names of the 9 boys on our team. :) I am getting better with the names though. The only bad thing about coaching, is when you are paying attention to the players, and the game this much, I haven't had time to take a single photo. :(  It may not seem to be a big deal, or huge problem, but I am a camera happy mom. I love to take photos, especially of the kids when they are in action and happily oblivious to the camera in my hands.  I am working on a way to remedy the situation as I type these words.
Tomorrow is the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.  It is so hard to believe that it has been that long. I remember arguing with a then 3 year old Kole about changing the channels. I was terrified and glued to the coverage, he wanted to watch Sesame Street.  I think of all the changes that have taken place in our country and globally over these years because of the attacks on our country.  I think of the hero's and the lives lost on that day.  I hope we all take a moment (or two) to be grateful for our family, our freedom, and the USA over the weekend.  God Bless!

Baby Girl is Growing Up

Today we did it. We went from crib to "toddler daybed". I am sure it is going to be an interesting night. One that has been coming for about a month now.. she managed to scale the crib for the first time a few weeks ago and threw open her bedroom door in a fit of giggles so excited to have outsmarted mom and dad. So here it is.. my baby is in (sniff) a big girl bed.

Foam Party!

Our towns annual community celebration was just last weekend. It was a busy weekend full of music, food, friends, and fun.  Friday night there was a "foam" party, we were unable to attend last years party, but decided this year we were going to make it for sure. So glad that we did. The kids had so much fun and it was a lot exciting for me to photograph. ;) Although my oldest did not want anything to do with his photo being taken at this event, and therefore did his best to hide from the camera. (*boo to kids thinking they are "too big"*).

 Let the fun begin!
Miss Scout having a great time, it was hard to keep track of her in all those bubbles!!
And finally, Logan, and probably one of my favorite photos of the summer...
