My 365 - January 30, 2012
What another beautiful day! 68 degrees, in January, in Nebraska.. AGAIN. I just don't know if I can get used to this. I love the gorgeous weather, we have been blessed with only a few slick roads so far this year. I am enjoying it (tonight played some basketball with the boys and colored on the sidewalk and driveway with Scout). However, I would really like some snow, to sled at least once before winter is over. I am a Nebraska girl, we are supposed to have FOUR seasons, even if sometimes they all make an appearance in a 24 hour span. Anyway, finished off the night exploring the wonders of Ripley's Believe It Or Not with Logan, he loves these books <3

I am a bit late getting this photo up but I promise it is from 1/28. I took the day and finished my book (Inheritance) so happy I finally took the time to sit down and read it properly. Hope you are all having a great weekend, it's been pretty low key here. My picture for the day is Scout in her pj's at dance class. Hey it's what she wanted to wear and I am fairly certain her oldest brother went to pre-k in his jammies after putting up an argument about changing. Let kids be kids I guess. This time I didn't even argue, and she was awfully happy to wear them, and yes she added the tutu all by herself.

The Paper Mama - Feet
Okay I honestly did not know if I was going to do the challenge this week. We have been so busy, but it really bothered me not to enter, I have so much fun seeing everyone's creative ideas, and participating myself. Here I am though submitting my "Feet" photo. I was going through some photos from the last few months and found this one of Scout. She always see's mommy putting lotion on especially in the dry winter months, she decided she needed some moisturizing as well.. so here it is, my "Feet" photo challenge entry. =)

Yesterday well, yesterday was a craptastic day. However before the day's end the silver lining did peek through . Kole made honor roll. First time in Junior High. I could not be more proud of him for his accomplishments this last semester and him seeing what needed to be done and doing it. I am sure that my promise of 50 bucks if he made honor roll had absolutely nothing to do with him trying so hard...

Today, well the last few days, have been emotionally exhausting. Sometimes we need to take a step back, a breather if you will, and check ourselves. I am not saying that this week has been the worst, in fact I am sure that it could have been much much worse. However life can wear on anyone even under the most amazing circumstances... so tonight, I took a breather, I immersed myself in the world of pinterest organizing my boards (check out my more organized Pinterest !), snooped around on facebook (seriously what else is it for?), read about how Demi is exhausted, Seal and Heidi have split, Kristen C. is expecting, and Princess Diana has a secret daughter.. all interesting, and mind numbing, and just what I needed.

Last Friday I got a phone call at work from my husband,who had just picked up our 8yo from school. He had... news. It seems that while picking up equipment from their gym class Logan and a friend decided to butt heads, accidentally, but none the less, Logan was feeling a bit sore, he wouldn't let me take a photo of it before today. Honestly I don't blame him, but here is his black eye day 3. My poor baby :(

It's been a good day. Kole started up dodgeball again, he proclaims it to be the only sport he has interest in anymore. Wow, what happened to my little boy? When did he become a teenager and get all these opinions? I did manage to get a picture of one of my favorite guys today, and the dirty look he gave me for taking his picture too. It's the small moments, and I know he thinks he is so grown up now, but to me he is still my little boy, and someday in a few years, we'll say do you remember when you were only 13??

Tonight we had some fun with glow sticks and slow shutter speed. The boys were happy to participate and debate who got what colors. Was I thinking enough in my stop at the store? Nope, if I had used my head I would have grabbed two packs and walked out, instead I grabbed one pack and was distracted by a pack of red, white, and pink silicone baking cups. So I managed to grab only one, and came to that realization when they were arguing over who got the coveted blue glow stick. Silly mom why should siblings share?? It all worked out in the end and they loved seeing how the pictures turned out =)

This afternoon my husband called me at work to say he was going to take our middle child to get a haircut. I mentioned I wanted to get to the gym tonight, so he offers to take the 2yo and pick up the 13yo and take them with so I can get my fitness on right after work. (WOOHOO!) I look at the weatherbug icon on my desktop, it's 61 degrees. I cannot go INSIDE to workout. So I head to one of the great trails we have in town camera in tow hoping to find something great to photograph. Wow so glad I decided to play outside. Endorphin's are pumping, the scenery is beautiful, and I'm sweaty, stinky, and happy. =)

My 365 - January 8, 2012
Do you see this picture? That is my couch. Where I stayed ALL day long. I am not sure if i should be ashamed or proud of that fact. I wasn't sick, I didn't nap, I just was lazy. All day. I snuggled with my family, watched some bad tv, watched some good tv (I consider the original Footloose some pretty awesome t.v). It was an amazing day of full of doing nothingness. It was THE BEST. The boys played more xbox than normally is allowed, Miss Thing took a longer nap than we like, and it was wonderful to just be.

I didn't get this posted on Friday night... I wound up distracted with a tutorial on how to make a facebook cover photo. Tutorial can be found here. Sooo that took a bit longer than I had planned on but it is always fun to learn new and fun things to do! :) My photo of the day yesterday is baby girl sleeping. She was doing what we all felt like doing. It was a short week, but it was a week of getting back into routine, the boys are back in school, everyone is back to work, and it's been an adventure trying to get everyone back on schedule. Here's to hoping this holiday hangover is soon to pass <3

Remember that unusually warm weather I had mentioned last month? Well, it's stuck around. We spent our after school/work time playing outside. The boys got out the football and the basketball, and even the soccer ball made an appearance. Miss Thing ran around on her 4 wheeler as well as chased her big brothers around. Looking forward to tomorrow, and the promise of 60+ degree weather.

This tells you the kind of crazy days I have been having. Yesterday when I was typing about my "Sunday Digi Detox, I didn't realize.... IT WAS SUNDAY! Oh how I have loved this time off of work, but I will enjoy getting back into a "normal" routine this coming week. ;) Hope all of you have had the opportunity to relax and just enjoy your families as I have in the last couple of weeks.

Here we go again, a brand new year with so many possibilities and opportunities just waiting for us to reach out and grab them. I have many goals this year, I am going to try and give myself time for myself, so that my friends and family get the best me. I am going to try and do a "digi detox" every Saturday night until Monday morning. (I have already warned my family this does NOT include me putting down my camera. After all how can I take 365 days of photos if I don't pick up my camera on Sundays? ;) You get the picture... no pun intended). I have a very dear friend whose New Years resolution it is to eat with chopsticks for the entire year.. with the exception of her sisters upcoming wedding. Just remember resolutions can be to improve upon ourselves, to look for the good in everyday, to find something we love and expand on it. Don't restrict yourself to "losing 20lbs" as your resolution, make it to be the healthiest you that you can be! Wishing everyone the best in 2012, stay strong and believe in yourself, if you don't do as well today as you would like, just remember tomorrow is a brand new day!
My husband and I rang in the New Year with a spectacular date night, and then coming home to watch the last few moments of the countdown snuggled on the couch with a nice glass of Moscato <3
Addison One Year
One good thing this warm Nebraska winter is for... PICTURES! It was great to get my niece out for her one year photos on her Great Grandparents farm and celebrate the first year of her life. I always have a wonderful time taking photos of my family, and Addison is such a doll it was extra fun. Happy One Year Addison!
Christmas 2011
Everyone will have to forgive me for the lack of photo posts. My (amazing) husband presented me with a new laptop for Christmas and I am in the middle of moving files from one to another, and while I have had a few sessions over the holidays, I have been slow to get them on the blog. I am still figuring out all the bells and whistles on the new computer. (I love love love it, just need to familiarize myself with it). Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas, and as it is now January 1, a Happy New Year as well! Here are some photos from our holiday...
